Today we are talking about “Why You Can’t Lose Weight and What to Do About It: Part 1”

“Why can’t I lose weight?"

“Why won’t it come off?"

“Why is different now?"

“Why am I struggling so much?"

“Why can’t I lose this belly fat?”

Who here has these questions?

Right?

A lot of us are wondering... why?

It seems like our bodies have completely betrayed us a bit, doesn’t it?

Like we hit 40 and things got harder, we hit 50 and everything moved to our bellies, we hit 60 and nothing comes off, absolutely nothing, we hit our 70’s wondering what on earth we did wrong and why we never got ahold of our weight.

So today I want to tell you why.

Let’s answer the question: Why you can’t lose weight.

The reason is metabolic damage.

You can’t lose weight because your metabolism is damaged.

That’s right.

Now, what on earth does that mean?

Well, it means quite a bit actually.

Firstly, it means your metabolic machinery, your mitochondria are most likely damaged.

That’s right. Your metabolism is made up of two big pieces when it comes to weight control.

First, your metabolic machinery.

Second, your metabolic hormones.

Your metabolic machinery is super important. Your mitochondria burn calories. Any calorie you’ve ever burned in your life is burned in your mitochondria.

You can think of it like a car engine. You put fuel in and the fuel is burned in the engine and the wheels turn.

Well, you put fuel or food into your body, billions of tiny mitochondria organelles that are found in every cell of your body (except your red blood cells) take that fuel and burn it for energy or something we call ATP.

So your legs can move and your brain can think and your lungs can breathe.

Mitochondria are little organelles found in your cells. We want these babies to be fit, fresh, and efficient.

But our current food supply and eating habits have damaged some of mitochondria to point that they are now stressed, clunky, and not making as much energy as they could.

You need healthy mitochondria to burn the fat that we will release with the second part of your metabolism, your metabolic hormones.

But here’s the problem. There is no simple blood test to test the health of your mitochondria. They are not something we assess regularly. They are not even something we discuss regularly. We just talk about creating a calorie deficit so that you can burn calories.

Well, if your mitochondria and all inflamed and clunky, you won’t burn that much fat even with a stellar calorie deficit.

What damages our mitochondria?

Toxins. Too much sugar. Too low nutrients, too much uric acid, certainly toxic oils and other chemicals that are found in our food.

If you eat processed food or eat out at restaurants you have a very good chance at having mitochondrial damage. And that’s about all us.

Your ability to burn fat is dependent on the health of your mitochondria.

Not just eating less or exercising more.

Our lifestyle and food supply is hurting us at such a deep level, just cutting calories is no longer a viable option for losing weight.

You have to repair the damage you’ve done to your body so that it can do what it is supposed to do.

If you provide your mitochondria with the right fuel and protect it from toxins and bad eating habits, you will burn fat with ease and maintain a very healthy weight. Not only that, you will have a very healthy body overall. You will have plenty of energy and live a good long life.

Mitochondrial health is the basis of all health.

And mitochondrial health can be impacted positively by eating in a certain way.

This is incredible news. Just incredible.

So to summarize the little science lesson we’ve had together today.

You are struggling to lose weight because you have a damaged metabolism from years of dieting and following bad eating advice.

You have two main parts of your metabolism when it comes to weight control.

Your metabolic machinery and your metabolic hormones.

Today we talked about how important our metabolic machinery, our mitochondria are to us being able to burn fat.

We need to have fit, healthy mitochondria that can burn fat easily to promote a permanent healthy weight and glowing health.

Things like toxins in our food supply, too much sugar, and other chemicals and eating habits damage our mitochondria so that can’t burn fat that well.

Even if there is fat to burn!

We need to repair the damage to our mitochondria and protect them so that we can not only burn fat easily and efficiently, but also so that we can be incredibly healthy and happy.

You absolutely have what it takes to lose weight. You just need to fix your metabolism first!
